£100 fine for driving in wrong lane | Paisley Autocare

New cameras have been installed which will land motorists with an automatic £100 fine and the risk of three points on their licenses if caught driving in the wrong lane. This applies to motorway drivers using a shut lane, normally marked with a red 'X' on an overhead sign., Now National Highways says it has improved its new technology for catching those who break these rules..

Edmund King, AA president added: "When a vehicle is broken down in live running lanes the Red X can be seen as an early warning sign. Ignoring this means that drivers are putting themselves and other motorists around them at risk by not only endangering their own lives but those of people passing on either side."
I'm glad there's finally legislation for this!
