Fully F-Gas Certified Technicians

Handling air conditioning refrigerant requires specialist training and legal certification. Our mechanics are fully F-Gas Certified, meaning we are legally qualified to safely extract, handle, and dispose of your vehicle's refrigerants in an environmentally friendly and fully compliant manner.

Why Topping Up Your Aircon is Crucial

❄️

Year-Round Visibility

Aircon isn't just for cooling in summer. It pulls moisture out of the air in the cabin, which is the fastest and most effective way to demist your windscreen on cold, wet winter mornings.

Better Fuel Efficiency

When your refrigerant gas is low, your AC compressor has to work twice as hard to produce cold air. This puts extra strain on your engine and actively burns more fuel.

🦠

Health & Hygiene

Over time, condensation builds up in your AC pipes, creating a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. This causes bad smells and can trigger allergies. A full service sanitizes the system.

🔧

Prevent Expensive Leaks

Refrigerant gas contains special oils that lubricate the rubber seals in your AC system. If the system runs dry, those seals crack and leak, leading to expensive repair bills.

Which gas does my car need?

R134A vs. R1234YF: If your car was manufactured before 2017, it will almost certainly use the older R134A refrigerant gas. Due to environmental regulations, almost all cars manufactured from 2017 onwards are legally required to use the newer, more eco-friendly R1234YF gas. Don't worry if you aren't sure—our technicians will check exactly what your car needs when you arrive!

Smart Tip: Use it or lose it!

Most drivers turn off their air conditioning entirely during the winter months to save fuel. This is actually a mistake! You should run your AC for at least 10 minutes every week, all year round. The refrigerant carries a special oil—circulating it keeps the rubber seals in the pipes lubricated. If you leave it off all winter, the seals dry out, crack, and the gas leaks out by the time summer arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I get my aircon regassed?

Manufacturers generally recommend getting your air conditioning system serviced and regassed every 2 years. Car AC systems naturally lose about 10% of their refrigerant gas every year through the joints and seals, reducing efficiency over time.

How long does an aircon regas take?

A standard regas usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Our machines will safely remove the old gas, hold the system under a vacuum to check for leaks, and then inject the precise amount of new gas and oil.

Will a regas fix my broken air conditioning?

A regas will fix your AC if the only issue is a lack of refrigerant gas. However, if your compressor is broken, or if there is a severe physical hole in your condenser unit or pipes, a simple regas will not fix it. If our machine detects a massive leak during the vacuum phase, it will abort the regas to prevent wasting gas, and we will advise you on the necessary repairs.
